The Vive con Esperanza Foundation, inspired by the story of “Esperanza and the Continental Rally’s Friends, has developed a cutting-edge approach that integrates intersectoral action to create a unique model in education for sustainable development (EDS) and disaster risk management (DRM). This approach focuses on the leadership of new generations, empowering them to design and build a viable future for both themselves and future generations. Through key initiatives such as the Continental Rally, the foundation has mobilized thousands of students, teachers, governments, and organizations, promoting environmental protection and emergency preparedness. Thanks to its ability to merge education and disaster response, this model has been widely recognized by national and international authorities, including ministries of education and environment, the OAS, UNESCO, UNDRR, and global networks of resilient education. These endorsements have solidified the Foundation as a key leader and reference point at the international level.
